Durak: Cards with Friends

Frequently asked questions

A little help with friends, decks, settings, and safer play.

Getting started

How can I get the game?

Durak is in an invitation-only TestFlight beta. Invited testers can update in TestFlight; the public App Store release is still to come. Join the launch waitlist for the announcement.

Which devices and languages are supported?

The iOS app supports iPhone and iPad with iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, in portrait and landscape. English and Russian are available from Home or Settings. Separate Mac and TV versions are still in development.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Choose Play Solo for one to three computer opponents. Choose Classic (Podkidnoy) or Transfer (Perevodnoy), with Relaxed, Standard, or Difficult opponents. Solo games save after each move; Continue returns you to your saved game. Game Center and an internet connection are needed for online play.

Where are hints and playable-card highlights?

Use Hint at the table for a suggested move. Helper turns automatic playable-card highlights on or off; Hint remains separate. Trumps controls the crown markers independently. Learn with Nadya offers an interactive tutorial.

Friends & tables

What is the quickest way to play with family?

Open Play With Friends, add your favorite people to Favorites, and tap Play beside a person. Choose a live game or Take turns before sending the invitation. Use the group-invite button to choose several friends for a table of 2–4 players.

Why are unfamiliar people in Recently Played? Can I clear it?

Earlier versions imported Game Center’s recent-player suggestions, which could include unfamiliar names. Build 13 shows recorded Durak opponents instead. Open Recently Played to remove individual entries or Clear List, then use Undo if needed. This hides recent entries without deleting friendships or match statistics.

How do public tables work?

In build 13, Find a Table opens the public-table beta. Create a table or join an open one, then mark yourself ready. The host starts when every seat is filled and everyone is ready. Both variants support 2–4 players. There is no joining a game already in progress. This connection flow is still being tested across real accounts.

Can we play at different times?

Yes. Choose Take turns when inviting friends. Open the saved online match to return when it is your move. Home’s Continue button resumes the solo save; saved online games remain in the online area.

Where are leaderboards, badges, and tournaments?

The Home shortcuts open Leaderboards and Badges & stats. Leaderboards uses Game Center for streaks, ranked cups, and supported challenges. Tournaments opens the separate five-round solo Village Cup. Cup saves are separate from your regular solo game.

Decks & purchases

Is Russian Heirloom free?

Yes. Russian Heirloom, previously called Vintage No. 1, is permanently free alongside the Classic deck. It includes keepsake box art and a full-card preview.

Can I see every card and try a premium deck?

Open Decks and select a pack to browse its 36 cards, filter by suit, enlarge a card, flip it, and preview its backs. The App Store version supports a separate one-time 72-hour trial for each premium pack when its trial offer is available. You choose when each trial starts; it never charges automatically. Purchases and prices appear in the app when available.

Why are all the decks unlocked in TestFlight?

Verified TestFlight installations receive tester access to all bundled decks, alternate backs, and tables. Tester access is for the beta; it does not purchase those packs for the future App Store version or consume your individual trial eligibility.

How do I restore a purchase?

Use Restore Purchases in the deck store with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. TestFlight tester access is separate from paid ownership. If a pack remains locked, contact support with the pack name and app build; never send your password.

Chat & support

Can I turn chat off?

Yes. Open Settings → Online chat and switch chat off. Card play remains available. Apple’s Game Center communication restrictions also apply.

How do I report or block someone?

Use the message’s actions to Report message or Block player. A report lets you review the message, optional context, and reason before submission. Check Your reports in Safety & support for its status. Blocking hides that player’s messages and disables chat at an existing table while card play can continue. Manage unblocking in Safety & support → Blocked players.

Why is my message or report queued?

New chat messages need approval from the safety service before delivery. If the connection or service is unavailable, messages and reports may remain queued; queued does not mean submitted. Gameplay can continue. Check the connection and status in Safety & support. Read the community rules and privacy policy for moderation and retention details.

What should I send with a bug report?

Include your device, OS version, language, game mode, steps to reproduce, and the version/build shown at the bottom of Home. A screenshot helps. Email support@durakwithfriends.com; leave out passwords and private conversations.
